Two new acting
KNF district rangers
Kootenai National Forest has two new acting district rangers.
David Wrobleski is serving as acting district ranger at the Libby Ranger District. Jim Thompson is acting district ranger at Fortine/Rexford Ranger District.
“It’s great to have Dave and Jim join the forest’s leadership in these acting assignments,” Acting Kootenai Forest Supervisor Pam Gardner said. “They both bring skills and perspectives that will benefit the Kootenai National Forest.”
Wrobleski comes to the Kootenai from the Plains/Thompson Falls and Superior ranger districts on the Lolo National Forest where he is a wildlife biologist. He has led the district resources program, which includes recreation, trails, outfitter recreation, special uses, grazing and minerals.
“I hope to be able to help the Libby District keep moving forward on the wide array of interesting projects that are ongoing,” said Wrobleski. “My family and I are interested in getting to know the Libby area and people through the summer. I am excited about this opportunity.”
Thompson comes to the Kootenai from the Savannah River Site in South Carolina where he is the construction group leader. In that position, he supervises a team of employees responsible for construction and infrastructure maintenance activities on the Savannah River Site. He has also served as a civil engineer and facilities engineer in several locations in the Forest Service.
