CARD holds home dinner fundraiser

| May 2, 2014 3:07 PM

The Center for Asbestos Related Disease (CARD) Foundation is doing something a little different this year.

We will be holding a Stay At Home Fundraiser Gala on Tuesday, May 20. The concept of this event is simple: Instead of going out for a fancy meal hosted by a charity, the CARD Foundation will deliver meals to the homes of attendees.

We have heard of organizations in other communities selling tickets to “stay at home dinners” as a fundraiser, but really those are just a fun way to ask people for a donation – in most cases, there is no actual dinner involved. So, we decided to take it a step further, and provide those who purchase tickets a lovely meal, delivered right to their doorstep.

The menu for the evening includes your choice of chicken parmigiana or steak marsala, along with pasta, salad and dessert. All meals will be delivered between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Someone must be present at home during this time to receive the meal.

By using this distinctive, one-of-a-kind model, most overhead costs are eliminated, and the proceeds made go directly to benefit CARD. You must order tickets by May 16. For more information, contact me at 293-9274, ext. 132.
