Burke leaves Port Authority, becomes CFO at Cabinet Peaks
The Lincoln County Port Authority is without an executive director for the second time in four months, as Brigid Burke has left the position to become the chief financial officer at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center.
Burke, who was the assistant director for two-plus years and replaced Paul Rumelhart as director after his retirement in November, began work as the CFO at Cabinet Peaks on March 10.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Brigid as the Chief Financial Officer for Cabinet Peaks Medical Center, and a member of our Administrative Council,” said Bruce Whitfield, CEO of Cabinet Peaks. “She comes to us with a wealth of financial experience and a wonderful amount of energy. She is a great fit for our organization.”
Burke, a member of south Lincoln County for 2? years, is active in the area and participates in various development and initiative groups. Burke holds a bachelor degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and a masters degree in accounting from the University of Virginia.
Burke is no stranger to the world of hospital finance. Before moving to the area, she worked for Ernst & Young, one of the largest accounting firms in the world, as an audit senior where much of her client list included healthcare organizations. She is also a certified public accountant.
Burke moved to Libby with her husband, Brandon, who is a dentist at the Northwest Community Health Center.
“My husband and I absolutely love it here,” Burke said. “I am very excited to be joining Cabinet Peaks Medical Center and am looking forward to contributing to the success of such an important pillar of our community. I look forward to working with the administrative team to develop and implement a strategic plan that ensures the new hospital is well positioned to serve this community and nearby communities’ current and future healthcare needs.”
