Samuel Wallace, 79, of Troy

Samuel H. Wallace, 79, of Troy died Monday, March 3, 2014, at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.  

He was born June 29, 1934, in Columbia, S.C. Sam grew up and attended school in South Carolina.  

At 17, Sam entered the U.S. Navy.  Sam served in the Navy for 22? years.

Sam married Shirley in 1960. They enjoyed more than 50 years together.   Shirley preceded Sam in death.  

Survivors include three children, Shirlee (John Coy)  Wallace of Troy, Mike (Ducie) Wallace of Troy and Sherry Washburn of Texas; six grandchildren, Michael James, Avery, Cody, Sophia, Shayann and Justin; and three great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.  

Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
