Ernie Lee Riedlinger, 89

Ernie Lee Riedlinger, 89, of Hermiston, Ore., passed away peacefully at his residence on June 13, 2014. He was born in Troy and spent his childhood in Yaak and Troy. 

At the age of 18, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in World War II until his honorable discharge. Ernie was united in marriage to Mary Jo Doranus on February 14, 1948, in Libby. Most of his life he worked in the logging industry and construction. He was a member of the Teamsters and Operating Engineers Unions and also belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2.

 Ernie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jo Riedlinger, Hermiston, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Peluso of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Debra Hill of Libby; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a half-brother, David Riedlinger, Berren Springs, Mich.; two half-sisters, Jeanine Grant and Carol Woods, both of Phoenix, Ariz.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters. 

 A celebration of life service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. June 20, 2014, at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Ore.
