Majorie Clark, 81, former of Libby

Marjorie Ellen Hines Clark, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother passed away Jan. 2, 2014, at Whitefish Care and Rehab from lung cancer.

Marjorie was born March 23, 1931, in Snoqualmie, Wash., to Marguerite Francis Kiser Hines and Walter Elden Hines. She was the second youngest daughter of seven children.

Marjorie grew up in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Issaquah High School. Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper for Boeing and Arthur Andersen in Seattle until she moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in opera. She sang in the San Francisco Opera for a few years in the early 1950s.

Marjorie moved to Denver  with a friend then moved to Libby to be near her sister, Bessie Griner.  

In Libby, she met her husband, Robert, and they were married at St. John Lutheran Church. Marjorie worked as a legal secretary in Libby until she started a family. She worked alongside her husband for 30-plus years in their business, Bob’s TV, in Libby.

In the early ’90s Marjorie and Robert moved to Tonopah, Nev., to be near Bob’s brother, Forrest.

In 1997, they moved to Pocatello, Idaho, to be near their son, Edward. In 2001 they moved to Kalispell to be near their daughter,  Colleen.

Through the years, Marjorie’s passion was her family, making cookies, knitting and crocheting. She made many keepsakes for her family and friends.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her sister, Rose Marie Anderson; her daughter, Colleen (David) Turner; her daughter, Barbara (Nick) Roberts;  a son, Edward (Christine) Clark; grandchildren, Selena, Danielle, Ryan, Jessica, Tabitha, Ericka and Raven, and great-grandchildren, Josiah, Rachell and Lily. Many nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives also survive her.

Marjorie had a gorgeous smile and a twinkle in her eyes that could light up a room when she walked through the door. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

Marjorie’s family is grateful to the nurses, staff and doctors at North Valley Hospital, Whitefish Care and Rehab and St. Peter Lutheran church for taking such loving care of her through the last few weeks of her life.

A service was held for Marjorie on Monday Jan. 6, 2014, at Austin Funeral Home.

Burial followed the service at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
