Hunter-ed class

begins Feb. 5

A hunter-education class is coming to Libby, and registrants must complete an application online.

The class begins Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Libby Elementary School, 101 Ski Road.

To register, applicants must go to the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks website, www.fwp.mt.gov and click on the education tab.

Registration must be completed online, and it is free.

Little Guy wrestling

club signup Jan. 28

The Libby Wrestling Club will hold the registration for the Little Guy Wrestling season on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Libby High School lobby.

The signup will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Young grapplers from kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to participate.

Cost is $35 for the first wrestler, and $15 for each additional child in the same household.

Camp Patriot effort

The second annual Ryan Job Navy SEAL Challenge, which benefits Camp Patriot, is scheduled for March 11.

The challenge involves 60 burpees, 45 pull-ups 180 lunge jumps, 75 push-ups and a 3,000-meter run or row for time.

The challenge is done in three rounds, so only 25 push-ups must be done during one round. The 2013 winner was Fred Kolberg of Virginia, who finished in 24-minutes, 43 seconds.

The event is named for Job, a highly decordated Navy SEAL who was wounded in Iraq. Job later died after surgery to correct the wounds of war.

Job’s military service has been documented in a number of books and films, including the New York Times and the best-selling book, American Sniper.

The challenge is being held on Job’s birthday, March 11.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the Ryan Job Challenge will benefit Camp Patriot.
