Dale L. Bohn, 77, of Troy

Dale L. Bohn, 77, of Troy, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, after a short battle with lung cancer.  

He was born in Minneapolis, on Dec. 31, 1935.

He graduated from St. Louis Park High School, at that time a rural community outside of Minneapolis.

Dale married Karen in January 1958. Their union produced two children, Belynda and Mark Bohn.

Dale and his son, Mark,  discovered Troy in the early ’70s, while traveling by train across country. He returned to Troy a few years later with his then wife, Janet (Evens), and her small son, Eric, making it their home.

Dale was preceded in death by wife, Karen, who recently succumbed to pancreatic cancer on Aug. 16, 2013, in Miami; his parents; and a brother, Donald Bohn in 2004.

Survivors include his children, Belynda and her husband, Gary, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Mark and his life partner Christine, of Felton, Calif.; stepson, Eric, Lino, of Lakes, Minn.; grandchildren, Chelsea, Robert and Rachel Endicott;  great-grandson, William Robert Erickson;  and brothers, Gary Bohn of Los Angeles; Jerry Bohn of Barrington, Ill.; and James Bohn of Chanhassen, Minn.

The family of Dale L. Bohn would like to thank the Libby Care Center Hospice and all his friends in Troy and Libby.

Dale’s remains were cremated and his ashes spread over the mountains that he loved so much outside of Troy.   

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
