Fire Chief Chauncey Sauer (on ground) inspects the Libby Rural Fire District's Pumper No. 2 as Assistant Fire Chief Jim Davidson poses in the operator's station at the top mount control panel. The panel allows the operator to observe a fire and the hose line. All firemen will be trained to operate the pumper, whose equipment includes an electronic siren and a public address system. Electricity is produced by a 3,000-watt built-in power-takeoff generator, and 250 feet of cable is mounted on a reel in the rear of the truck. Photo from the Dec. 20, 1973, files of The Western News.
