Johnnie Sixkiller

Johnnie J. Sixkiller, 63, of Troy, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital of a hemorrhagic stroke.  

He came to Lincoln County in 1999, residing in Libby and later in Troy in 2006.  

He was born at Ponca City, Okla., Jan. 24, 1950, to Emory and Joan (Jo) Sixkiller. He was raised and educated at Claremore, Okla.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1969 until being honorably discharged in 1971 including duty in southeast Asia.  

He worked for many years as a long-haul truck driver and later as a woods worker for the U.S. Forest Service.  After moving to Libby, he worked for Remp Sand & Gravel until retiring.  

Preceding him in death were his father and infant granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his sons, Emory of Mouldry, Ga., Justin of Anaconda and Jacob of Butte; his mother, Jo Sixkiller of Claremore, Okla.; and five siblings, Steve, Susan, Tammy, Danny and Kathy, all of Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren.

Private arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
