Gregory Steven Challinor, 50, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, on the fourth anniversary of the death of his beloved son, Tyler Steven Challinor.

Greg’s death was the result of an accident on Highway 12. He was born on July 17, 1963, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Betty and James Challinor and was raised in Libby where later he was blessed with two wonderful children, Skye and Tyler.

He then met the love of his life, Linda, and married in 1998 in Roy, Utah.  They moved to California where his beloved children, Kross and Karli were born. He was working in construction management when he became ill and they moved to Orofino, Idaho. He bravely survived a 10-year battle with cancer.

Greg received his bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University in Nebraska and was currently working on a master’s degree.

Greg is survived by his wife, Linda Challinor, of Orofino, Idaho; children, Kross and Karli Challinor and Skye (Steven) Hall of Couer d’Alene, Idaho; and grandchild, Jaiden.

Also surviving are his mother, Betty, of Columbia Falls: Jeffrey (JoAnna) Challinor of Victor; Scott (Wendy) Challinor of Creston; sister, Jamie (Vince) Crowell of Columbia Falls; and many nieces and nephews who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James; and his son, Tyler, and several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with a lunch to follow on Wednesday Jan. 15, at The Orofino National Guard Armory, Highway 12, Orofino Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been started in the Challinor family name at Lewis & Clark Credit Union.
