Wilda B. Vander Voorden, 82, of Libby

Wilda B. Vander Voorden, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all, passed away Jan. 2, 2014, with her family by her side.

She was born  in Potsdam N.Y., on March 29, 1941, to Glenn and Marion Wynne. Wilda was one of five children to grow up on the family farm in New York, later moving to Libby with her family in 1965.

She married the love of her life Robert Vander Voorden on Dec. 28, 1973. Wilda loved camping and spending summers at the lake with family and friends.

Anyone who knew Wilda knew the above to include her dogs, which she often referred to as her heart.  Wilda was active member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Club, becoming Noble Grand on May 22, 2006.

She enjoyed volunteering and helping out wherever she could, including many years as a hospice volunteer.

Wilda was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her dog, Ellie; her children, Lynnette and Scott Asche of Bozeman; Vickie and Robert Holzhauser and Robin and Bill Armstrong both of Libby; Becky, Connie and Glenn LaCoss of Bend, Ore.; Lynn and Rick Long of Portland, Ore.; Billy and Dixie Vander Voorden of Spokane, Wash.; Ken Vander Voorden of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Wendy Drake, Stephine LaCoss-Scott, Danielle Eklund, Taylor and Michael Armstrong, Cory Vander Voorden, Sarah Tehan,  Cody Long, Aubree Depner, Chris LaCoss, and five great-grandchildren.

Wilda was loved by everyone who entered her life and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan 9, 2014, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan 10, 2014, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby, with a lunch after the funeral at Odd Fellows Lodge.
