Peck files an intent to challenge Berget
Mark Peck, the unit manager of the Department of Conservation Libby Office, has filed an intent with the Commissioner of Political Practices, to run for Lincoln County Commissioner.
Peck, 55, is a U.S. Air Force veteran who, before returning to Libby to work for the DNRC, was director of emergency services in Flathead County.
Peck indicated his intent to challenge Tony Berget by completing an online application Dec. 26. Despite that acknowlegement, Peck still must file at the clerk’s office, said County Clerk Tammy Lauer. Filings begin Jan. 9 and lasts until March 10.
Peck lives in Libby at 1028 Mineral Ave. with his wife, Terry.
In addition to the Lincoln County Libby commissioner’s post that expires Dec. 31, voters also will chose assessor, county attorney, county auditor, clerk and recorder, coroner, justice of the peace, public administrator, sheriff and treasurer.
