Stephen Aceves, 28, formerly of Libby
Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, Stephan Sergio Aceves, 28, of Pasco, Wash., tragically passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.
He was born in Libby on Oct. 19, 1985, to Alfredo Aceves and Donna Cornwell Bush. He was named after his uncle Sergio Aceves.
Stephan grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy High School in 2004. He attended the University of Montana.
Stephan liked to golf and loved to play disc golf and basketball.
To unwind, he enjoyed working the daily newspaper crossword and working jigsaw puzzles. He was a huge sports fan of the Oakland Raiders, Oakland A’s and LA Lakers.
Stephan was compassionate, always concerned about others. He was sensitive, grateful, generous and humble. He had a beautiful spirit. Stephan was sweet, genuine, always smiling and in a good mood.
Stephan is survived by his father, Alfredo Aceves; fiancée, Wanda Mahaffey; mother, Donna (Mike) Bush; brother, Michael Aceves; and his fiancée, Megan Simmons; sister, Christina Aceves; stepbrother, Clinton (Anna) Bush; stepsister, Bree (Jeff) Sides; stepbrother, Cory Parker; grandparents, Guadalupe and Carlota Aceves; grandparents, Jim and Darlene Cornwell; aunts and uncles, Josephine Aceves and family, Hortencia Gutierrez and family; Sergio Aceves, Amelia Gutierrez and family, Lupita Martinez and family, Hilario Aceves, Yolanda Merz and family, Adelaida Aceves, and Agustin Aceves.
Stephan loved his girlfriend Kara Vorreyer, and their cat, Ella. He leaves behind many great friends who he cherished.
Stephan’s family brought him home to Troy to be surrounded by family and friends who knew and loved him.
A memorial celebration of his life was held at the Troy Church of God on February 22.
