Bow-hunters class

set for March 10

A bow-hunters’ education class is scheduled for three days beginning March 10 at Frontier Communications, 114 E. Fourth St. in Libby.

Class participants must register online on the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks website at www.fwp.mt.gov.

Students also must attend an orientation class scheduled for March 5 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Frontier Communications.

Astronomy club

meets this Friday

The Kootenai Stargazers Astronomy Club will meet Friday, Feb. 21, at the home of Gene McClasson.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with chow and chatter followed by the 7 p.m. business meeting and a video by Ed Murphy entitled “The Constellations and their Stars: Seeing and Navigating the Sky.”

Rick’s Rental gets

installer honor

Rick’s Rental and Stoves is now a certified master installer of ductless heating and cooling systems.

The Libby business, owned by Rick Gullingsrud, was also named the Montana Installer Spotlight of the Month by goingductless.com, a trade association for the ductless heating and cooling industry. For all  February, a profile of the business will be featured at http://goingductless.com/montana-installer-spotlight.

Rick’s Rental has sold and serviced wood stoves, pellet stoves, propane and oil stoves for the past 15 years.

The business began selling and servicing heat pumps last year. To earn the master installer certification, Rick’s Rental was required to successfully install and service at least 25 ductless heating and cooling systems.

Free self-defense

class is offered

A free martial-arts class is being offered by Kootenai Taekwondo Academy.

The class is free to children ages 7 to 10 years. Students will be given an introduction to martial arts and learn self-defense skills.

Classes start 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 4.
