Don L. Coombes, 83, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at his home in Libby. He was born on Sept. 14, 1931, in Drummond, Mont., to Alvin and Ruth Coombes. He went to school in Evaro and Arlee.
Don married Barbara White in March 1957 and made their home in Priest River, Idaho. Don and Barbara moved their family to Missoula in 1966. Don worked in sawmills until he retired and came to Troy and Libby area in 1997.
Don loved his family and loved fishing, hunting and camping. He was loved by everyone.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Lon and Emmett Coombes.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; four daughters Diane (Randy) Augustine of Libby, Darlene (Allan) Phelps of Salt Lake City, Utah, B. Gayle (Michael) Cook of Morgantown, Ind., and Carol of Seligman, Ariz.; one son Les (Shirl) of Libby; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers Alvin Coombes of Missoula and Jay Coombes of Cedarville, Ark.
