Roll's decision unacceptable

It is unacceptable that Mayor Roll has no wish to support Libby’s economy by hiring a Libby attorney, or at least someone closer than Helena who will attend our City Council meetings.

It is unacceptable that Mayor Roll chose a Helena attorney who is a recognized authority in environmental law, yet has no experience in city government, civil or criminal law and who will not attend Libby Council meetings.  Check out the Helena firm’s areas of practice at http://www.doneylaw.com/.  The firm only practices in environmental and natural resource law, insurance coverage for policy holders, estate planning, and water rights.

It is unacceptable that Mayor Roll pointed out that his Helena attorney has worked for the City of Libby and is under contract with Lincoln County, yet failed to mention that in both situations it was/is for environmental litigation.

It is unacceptable that Mayor Roll and Councilpersons Bischoff, Desch, and Williams voted against the motion of Allen Olsen, seconded by Brent Teske, to delay the vote on a city attorney until the council can meet with Mayor Roll’s chosen Helena attorney.

What can you do about it?  I don’t know yet, but I will let you know as soon as I know.
