July 6
• A woman called in about owning a gun because she was moving from her residence but her husband could not buy a gun. The authorities advised them it was a civil issue.
• A person called in about seeing a body with a life jacket floating in the river. Other witnesses of the body corroborated the story but reported it a day after they saw the body.
• Someone lost a bluetick coonhound that belonged to a friend in Idaho.
• A person called in from Utah Avenue about walking by the Catholic church and Knights of Columbus and seeing a nearby propane tank leaking.
• A person called in near Empire Foods on Highway 2 to report a young male, about twenty, wearing blue jeans and long-sleeve shirt who was trying to hitchhike.
• A 13-year-old girl came to the Troy Police Department who was afraid to go home. The child was returned to the father.
• A theft of two life jackets near site one was reported at Dorr Skeels.
• A person called in from Spar Lake about four wheelers going on and out of the water, tearing up the boat launch and breaking the rules.
• A woman called in about a burglary on Bobtail Road. She said she knew the individuals who committed the burglary.
• A call came in from Revere Road about vandalism: someone had thrown a fan through the window and ripped screens out from the residence.
July 7
• A man hitchhiking between Highway 2 and mile marker 8 called in about a mountain lion that was standing in front of him. The man called the police and requested to be taken back to Troy. The man’s grandfather was called to pick him up.
• A person called in about an individual wearing a white helmet between Highway 2 and Cedar Creek who looked suspicious.
• Someone called on Highway 2 about someone who vandalized a greenhouse nearby.
• A call came in from Cabinet Heights about a theft of services. The water department discovered the water meter had been ripped out of the residence.
• A person near Spruce Street called in about a mattress lying on the road causing road blockage.
• A person called in around Highway 2 and Hammer Cutoff Road about four loose horses. The caller said the horses belonged to DeShazer Realty and were headed back to the barn.
• A call from Roosevelt Park came in about a group of people in an altercation.
• A woman from Granite Creek Road called in about how her husband, who she is separated from, was not letting her speak to their 3-and-a-half-year-old son. She asked for a welfare check on the son and wanted to set up custody for herself.
• Young children on four wheelers were called in for racing around Angel Island.
• A call came in from Shalom Kerry Road about six gun shots behind the caller’s house.
• A person on Bowker Street called in about a woman who had just gotten out of jail and got in a fight with her boyfriend and became intoxicated and threatening.
July 8
• A person on Main Street called about a suspicious vehicle that was driving around parks and getting out. The caller said when the driver saw him or her, the driver fled. The caller said the driver was wearing a dark brown shirt, black pajama bottoms and was carrying an ax handle.
• A man came in to the jail lobby to complain about his son’s traffic stop and towed vehicle. The man became very irate and assaulted a police officer.
• On Kootenai River Road, a person called in about her lost Great Pyrenees dog.
• A woman came into the lobby to speak with a deputy about a man harassing her at Yaak Mercantile.
• A person on Nevada Avenue called in about a black lab that was chasing children.
• A person between Highway 2 and the Kootenai Disposal called in about a vehicle that threw a beer bottle out of the window and took off once confronted. The caller said the vehicle was a silver PT Cruiser.
• A person on E. Ninth Street called in about a woman in her residence who was threatening her.
• A woman called in about her husband harassing her by email and phone as she was working in Kingman, Ariz.
• At the state line, a person called in about their bull that was missing.
• A woman called in at Shopko about being kicked out of a friend’s residence after visiting from Michigan. She requested a train or bus ticket.
• A man brought in what he thought was a stolen bike to the sheriff’s office lobby.
• A caller from Shaughnessy Hill informed officers about a man in a blue T-shirt and cargo shorts standing on a road on a hill wearing a road cone on his head. The same man was later reported again walking unsteadily and appeared to be intoxicated.
July 9
• A man on Park Street called about several of his items being stolen from his property.
• A person called in about vandalism near the Thompson Chain-of-Lakes.
• A person called in on Fish Hatchery Road about a mule that was being starved.
• A person on Louisiana Avenue called in about having property stolen.
• A dog was reported on Highway 2 that was running loose.
• A lost miniature horse was called in at the Highway 2 and Idaho state line.
• A man on Highway 2 called in about an attempted break-in of his travel trailer.
• A person on Louisiana Avenue called about a young dog in an apartment that the caller did not believe is being fed or watered.
• A call came in from Highway 2 about a person supplying tobacco and alcohol to a minor.
• A person called in about a neighbor on Idaho Avenue who was screaming. The caller said it sounded like somebody was being hurt. Officers later discovered it was an argument.
July 10
• A person on Sherman Road called to speak with a deputy about someone shooting his dog the night before while the dog was on his fenced property.
• A person on Utah Avenue called about a 70-year-old man who fell and hit his head, but still maintained consciousness.
• A woman called on Bayhorse Road about her garage being on fire. The fire was later put out.
