Troy tennis earns wins on court against Ronan
Troy’s home tennis meet was cut short by rain Tuesday, but not before a few of the Trojans’ top competitors earned wins.
Top girls doubles partners Katie and Kellie Lundin continued a pattern of quick work against Ronan’s Hannah Bird Rattler and Hannah Kiehn, winning in straight sets. Top boys singles player Michael Goe also won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
“Michael is on a roll,” Troy Coach Milo Rogers said. “He has done a nice job after playing as the number two last season.”
Rogers received exciting news Wednesday when former top singles player Bruce Metz, a senior, said he was going to give tennis another shot.
“I’d love to see him play singles,” Rogers said. “He said something about doubles. Maybe he could play with Luke (Haggerty).”
As for the Lundins, Rogers just wants to see them challenged.
“It would be nice to see them get some good competition in Bigfork,” Rogers said. “They have been focusing on serves, and they already have killer serves.”
The Trojans return to action Saturday in Bigfork.
