Sherry Lamey, 67, of Libby

Sherry Jean Lamey, 67, of Libby died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center from natural causes.  

Sherry was born Nov. 9, 1946, in Phoenix to Robert and Ruth (Redland) Close. Sherry spent her grade-school years in Oklahoma City. The family moved to Big Timber when she was in her early teens.  

Sherry married Jim Cosgriff in 1964 in Big Timber. The family moved to Libby later that year. Sherry and Jim had three children together, Trish, James and Marty. Sherry married Alan Lamey in June 10, 1989.   

Sherry worked as a waitress for many years.

Sherry was the first person hired at the 4 Bee’s and she worked there until they closed. Sherry took great pride in having the best looking yard in the neighborhood.  Sherry enjoyed her flowers, dogs, fishing and camping.

Her son Marty preceded her in death.  

Survivors include her husband, Alan Lamey of Libby; five children, Trish (Dan) Bundrock, James Cosgriff, Gary Lamey, Gayle Lamey and Greg Lamey all of Libby; grandchildren, Bret Johnson of Missoula; Danielle (Jeremiah) Maiden of Everett, Wash.; Nickole Lapka of Boise, Idaho; Cooper Brown of Libby; Cody Lamey of Missoula; three brothers,  Duane Close of Libby, Bobby Close and Jimmy Close both of Deerlodge; a brother-in-law, Bill Lamey of Libby; a special niece, Brenda Close of Iowa; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held. Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
