Edna A. Johnson, 78, formerly of Libby

Edna Arsceil Johnson, 78, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the Hospice House of North Idaho.

She leaves a loving companion of 21 years, Chuck Louden; four children, Niki  (Chris) Froines of Missoula, Terry Johnson of Pollock Pines, Calif., Suzy (Bob) Sexton of Ninilchik, Alaska, and Tom (Christi)  Johnson of Elk, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren.  

She also leaves behind a brother, Robert (Susie)  Gage; sister, Viola Grimes;  and sister-in-law, Judy Gage. 

Edna was born on May 11, 1935, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Edward and Arsceil Gage. Her father worked for General Telephone and her mother was a seamstress.  Edna was raised in Coeur d’Alene and attended Coeur d’Alene High School.

Edna married Thomas Johnson on June 21, 1952.  They lived in Pullman, Wash., for several years before moving their family to Libby in 1966, where Tom worked for General Telephone and Edna worked for J.C. Penney Tom and Edna were active members of the Eagles Club in Libby.

Edna was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Johnson; her parents, Edward and Arsceil Gage;  and her brother, Howard Gage.

A service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho, on Wednesday, Sept. 11. A reception followed at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane Street, Post Falls, Idaho.
