LDS church invites others to participate in service day
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints encourages a charitable spirit and unity in remembrance of the attacks of Sept. 11.
Bishop Ted Werner is extending an invitation to people of all faiths to join with his congregation in this commemoration to honor all those who died.
Werner suggests a way to honor those who died on Sept. 11 is to commemorate their lives with a day of service to others. The Libby LDS church established this tradition for its members several years ago.
This year’s project entails the resotroation of the Jerry Dean Park restroom and landscape.
The grade school breezeway roof also will be restored.
Individuals and groups having a desire to unite in this effort should come to the park at 5:30 p,m. Sept. 6 and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.
Workers are urged to bring work gloves, landscaping and other tools.
Lunch will be provided at 1 p.m.
