MaryLynn Larson, 81, of Libby

MaryLynn Larson, 81, of Libby passed away of natural causes Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.  

MaryLynn was born Sept.  10, 1932, the oldest of six children, in Poplar to Albert and Mildred (Hanson) Urdahl.  At a young age she moved to Libby where she grew up and attended the Libby schools.  

MaryLynn married Charles Larson in 1949.  They had four children.  She loved life and all  of her family.  

MaryLynn loved family gatherings and always made the best potato salad.  

MaryLynn loved to dance to Western music and would follow her son, Steve, and his band whenever she could. She was their biggest fan.  

She was said to be one of Libby’s best jitterbug dancers. MaryLynn was an avid NFL football fan and kept track of all the scores of all the teams every week. She loved old movies and enjoyed watching them on her new wide-screen TV.

MaryLynn will be greatly missed by her family and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Chuck Larson; her son, Gary Larson; and siblings, Shirley Urdahl, Billy Urdahl and Johnny Urdahl.

Survivors include her sons, Mark (Kim) Larson,  and Steve (Georgia) Larson; daughter, Cindy (Dan) Whetstone all of Libby; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Kay) Urdahl and Butch (Marlys) Urdahl both of Libby; and all of her beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.  

The family would like to thank all the caregivers during her short illness.

Services for MaryLynn will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 422 W. 2nd St in Libby.  

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, and up to one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  

A potluck luncheon/reception will be held directly after the service.  

Memorials may be sent to the Libby Care Center.  

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home of Libby.
