Winner claims quilt from fest drawing

The Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild would like to announce winners of their raffle quilt and the People’s Choice winners at the recent Nordicfest Quilt Show.
The 2013 Quilt Show had more large-sized quilt entries than in recent years and was well-attended, said Jan Sanderson, show chairman.
The attendees of the show voted the quilt awards during the first two days of the show. The award ribbons are placed for the final day of the show.
The winners in each of the two categories are:
Large Quilt
1st place – Carolyn Peck for hand-appliquéd bed quilt
2nd place – Jill Petrusha for a king-sized paper piece quilt
3rd place – Jan Sanderson for a hand-quilted queen- sized whole cloth quilt
Wall Hangings
1st place – Barb Hoeltzel for an embellished “Quilt Diva” wall hanging
2nd place – Kayley Robertson for a bargello hearts quilt
3rd place – Vicky Johnson for a framed appliquéd elephant
Winning the raffle quilt, was Monette Kuzmic of Happys Inn and the winner of the raffle basket was Mary Speirs, who lives in North Dakota.
