Bow Wow Bash scheduled for Oct. 12

| October 8, 2013 4:48 PM

Volunteers are busy getting ready for the 12th Annual Bow Wow Bash dinner/auction fundraiser for Kootenai Pets for Life.

Local businesses and friends of the shelter have contributed a variety of items for the live and silent auctions.

Dinner, a door prize and 50/50 drawing also will be a  part of the fun evening on Saturday, Oct. 12, that starts at 5:30 p.m.

There will be time to look at all the items, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and auction activity shortly after.

Single or couple tickets are available from volunteers or by calling 293-3435 or 293-6801.

Organizers request that  tickets be purchased by Oct.  7 so the caterers can prepare.

The Bow Wow Bash is the main fundraiser of the year for Kootenai Pets for Life. The organization was started in 2001 by a group of concerned citizens to provide a humane, no-kill shelter for the stray and abandoned pet population of the Libby and Troy area. The organization is a non-profit, all volunteer, organization.

With work and generous donations, the organization has been able to move into its new structure in Libby in 2009.  The shelter is located at 125 County Shop Road in Libby.

The shelter is open Monday through Wednesday and Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon. It is closed to visitors on Thursday.

Sunday the shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call for an appointment at 293-KPFL if those hours don’t work.

Volunteers are needed for the hours the Shelter is open.
