Louise Hopkins, 67, of Troy
Louise Irene Hopkins, 67, of Troy; born to Louis and Margaret (Norquay) Rhoades, passed away in the early morning hours on Nov. 3, 2013, at her daughter’s residence in Brighton, Colo.
Louise was born in Kalispell, and attended high school in Libby, where she graduated in 1964. She was married to James Gary Hopkins on Nov. 27, 1965.
Louise was a long-time Montana resident with strong ties to the communities of Libby and Troy. Louise retired from work in 2002 from St. John’s Lutheran Hospital. Shortly after retirement, she began donating time and energy to the Troy Food Bank, and also was a member of a local Quilting Guild who was responsible for making several quilts which were auctioned off to support local charities.
What Louise will be remembered for most is for her role as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; and the lives she touched through her actions and contributions.
She is survived by David and Cheryl Hopkins (son), Cheryl and Tim Kilbreath (daughter), Matthew Hopkins (grandson), Henry Kilbreath (grandson), Lucille and Miles Briggs (sister), Florence and Jack Drowatsky (sister), Maggie and Louie Partney (sister), Ruby and Norman Stapley (sister), Dale and Bonnie Good (brother), Gerald and Stella Good (brother).
Louise was preceded in death by James Hopkins (husband), Louis and Margaret Rhoades (father and mother), Ellen Munyan (sister), Joseph Good (brother).
Graveside services will be held July 2014 at Milnor Lake Cemetery in Troy.
