Get a cost estimate before you have work done

Letter to the Editor,
Be aware, before you call.
I called a plumber, and of course, two show up. OK, they fixed a leak on my kitchen sink, a drip in my shower handle and replaced a toilet. I, of course, paid for all the parts, and hold your breath, $350 for labor.
Three-and-a-half hours spent makes this $100 per hour, mostly talking, going to get a part, while we at home, talked.
For most people in Libby, that is one week’s salary, and for us on Social Security much more.
So, check before you call and get at least an estimate.
