Sheriff’s Report
April 17
• A suspicious man was living under a bridge near the Yaak Mercantile for several months surviving on raw meat and eggs. He was purported to have said a cold enough person could wrap themselves in a human body to stay warm.
• A 911 call was made from a residence on Farm to Market Road after a young man threw a gas can into a fire. It exploded and the man had third-degree burns over 75 percent of his body.
April 18
• Caller who delivers newspapers reported seeing lights on in a trailer that had been abandoned when the previous owner died.
• Caller at Reese Trailer Court reported a turkey with an arrow through it running around.
• Smoke alarm was going off at Libby Care Center. Libby Volunteer Fire Department was called, but there was no fire.
• An 8-year-old girl was not in school and was trying to sell items to raise money for her family.
• Two brothers were fighting over their deceased parents’ property on Pinewood Lane in Troy.
• A dog had been left for several days in a trailer on Milnor Lake Road.
• Brett N. Thomson, 31, was arrested for DUI in Troy.
April 19
• A bike was stolen from Lucky Logger Casino.
• Caller on Treasure Avenue woke up with numbness in his arm and general fatigue.
• Caller on Riverside Street in Troy called the sheriff’s office demanding to speak to the sheriff or undersheriff. He claimed deputies broke into his residence and stole property.
• Caller on Louisiana Avenue reported a young man came into his yard reporting he had been in a fight at school.
• Caller on Louisiana Avenue reported a suicidal young man leaving the Central School. He was concerned the kid would hurt himself.
• Caller on Louisiana Avenue reported someone left a bike by her garbage cans. It was a newer bike and had not yet been retrieved.
• Caller at Farm to Market Road and Timber Lane reported several juveniles spray-painting a house at the end of the road.
• A man in a blue pickup was swerving on Highway 2 toward Troy. He was exiting the vehicle and urinating in public. No plate was taken down.
• A beagle was chasing deer by the church on Education Way and Mahoney Road.
• An injured deer was reported at the end of caller’s driveway on Highway 2 near mile marker 13.
• An underage party was reported at the Park Apartments. Several young men were transported to detention.
April 20
• An underage party was reported on Farm to Market Road at Cowell Creek.
• Caller on Evergreen Street reported seeing a large black wolf. Their cats had been disappearing for a while, and now they had a culprit.
• Someone stole the medications belonging to a woman and her children from her vehicle parked at Empire Foods.
April 21
• Caller in 900 block of Montana Avenue had a homemade barrier of three cinder blocks and a railroad tie stolen from his back yard.
• Caller on Libby Creek reported someone had stolen the fuel tank off his International boom truck.
• Caller reported seeing two white pickup trucks parked at Lincoln Lanes with the owning individuals trying to kill the baby rabbits in the area.
• Britney Lautt, 21, was charged with assaulting another woman on Lincoln Boulevard.
• Reporting party came into the sheriff’s office lobby to report that a man had threatened his son while he worked at Burger Express that afternoon.
April 22
• A Fish, Wildlife & Parks truck reported it was heading out to mile marker 62 on Highway 2 to pick up some dead deer for bear bait.
• A man was arrested in Troy. No other information was given.
