Kalispell man faces teen assault charges

| March 29, 2013 8:15 AM

A 20-year-old Kalispell man who police say assaulted an 18-year-old high school student at the student’s home has been charged with felony criminal endangerment.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry tells the Daily Inter Lake in a story posted Saturday that Daniel Rasmussen was angry his former girlfriend was dating the teenager. Police say Rasmussen punched the teen in the face several times on Tuesday and kicked the teen in the head.

Curry says the teen suffered a broken nose and both eyes swelled shut, but he’s expected to have no problems healing.

Rasmussen also faces a felony criminal mischief charge after police say he dented a vehicle at the home and caused $2,000 in damage.

Rasmussen was being held in the Flathead County Detention Center.
