Justice Court

March 21

• Judy Hering had a charge of DUI amended to careless driving. She was fined $100 and given a suspended sentence of 180 days.

• Gregory A. Mays, Sr., was fined $250 and given a suspended sentence of 178 days for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. An additional charge of driving without liability insurance was dismissed.

• A 14-year-old was driving without possessing a valid drivers license. No additional information was provided.

March 22

• Waylen J. Anderson was fined $100 for an unspecified violation of Fish, Wildlife & Parks rules.

• A 16-year-old was fined $800 for hunting a large-game animal during closed season and wasting a game animal. He was given a restitution of $600.

Sheriff’s Report

March 20

• Caller wanted assistance claiming his cylinders from Stinger Welding.

• Caller in Johnson Trailer Court reported a dog on a chain had jumped over a fence and was just dangling there. She tried to free it, but it growled at her.

• Cleaning lady on Idaho Avenue reported she couldn’t get a woman to come to the door.

• A vehicle was driving too fast and too furious in the Libby High School parking lot. Caller believed the car was headed for the Park Apartments.

March 21

• John Henry Howendobler “blew hot” in a DUI stop and was in Lincoln County detention.

• Caller on Old Highway 2 wanted to talk to a deputy about her step-daughter harassing her.

• An employee at Libby Sports Center wanted to talk to an officer regarding a theft they had recorded on tape March 20.

• Someone had broken the window of a property the caller had been housesitting for on Timber Lane.

March 22

• Caller reported the osprey nest at the west end of Libby had a “keep out” sign. They wanted it removed. The owner of the property said they put the sign there to keep geese from nesting there so the osprey would come back in the spring.

• Caller on Highway 2 wanted to talk to a deputy about someone breaking into her home in the past few days and several items that had been stolen.

• A red Chevy pickup was parked on Highway 2 near Hoodoo Mountain Pellets. There was a white pitbull inside the vehicle all day with the windows rolled up. Animal Control was advised. 

• Melissa Alsbury was arrested on charges of partner-family assault.

• Caller on Westland Road turned in a tan female chihuahua.

• Caller reported a man was trying to fight him at J. Neils Memorial Park.

• A 16-year-old girl on Callahan Creek Road in Troy took off with some older kids to do some “partying” and refused to come home.

• 911 was called when several people were running around and screaming on Spruce Street and Minnesota Avenue about getting high. Shannon Fairbrother, 43, was arrested on charges of possession of dangerous drugs.

March 23

• Darcy Carvey, 41, was arrested for partner-family assault after refusing to allow the caller’s dad back into the residence.

• Caller in 700 block of California Avenue reported someone had broken into his brother’s house and ransacked the place.

• Employee at Rosauers discovered an empty pack of cigarettes with marijuana inside. They wanted to give the evidence to an officer.

• There was a 911 call for a group that just had an altercation at McDonald’s. A Toyota 4-Runner  escaped from the scene. A gun was taken from one of the assailants.

• Caller in 200 block of Bowen Hill Road caught a dog that had been chasing his chickens and some deer.

• Underage party reported on Buck Creek. No alcohol was on the scene.
