The case of Rob Hubbard v. Lincoln County will see a motion to compel at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in a federal court in Missoula.

Hubbard seeks documents and evidence from the defendants before the official trial begins in Missoula on June 24.

Motions to compel most commonly deal with discovery disputes, like the one Hubbard is claiming. If the judge accepts the motion, the defendants would be compelled to provide documentation and/or information that Hubbard is requesting.

The case stems back several years and deals with what Hubbard claims was a law-enforcement conspiracy to punish him.

The defendants in the case, which include Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe and Justice of the Peace Jay Sheffield, have either declined to comment or denied there is any truth or merit to Hubbard’s claims.
