George A. Hartl, Jr., 78, of Libby passed away of natural causes March 13, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1934, in Logan to George A. Hartl, Sr., and Lavine (Davis) Hartl.
He grew up, for the most part, in the Troy area, attending school in both Kalispell and Troy.
George spent time working on various ranches in the Three Fork, Mont., area but returned to the northwest. He enjoyed being outdoors.
George was a social butterfly and had many friends. He was affectionately known as Georgie Porgie. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Floretta, and a brother, Benny.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Wells, of Libby; a daughter, Laurie (Blaine) Sundstrom of Billings; two sisters, Bonnie Hobbs of Great Falls and Jeannie Hartl of Seattle; a brother, Richard Hartl of Three Forks; and a grandson, Justin Sundstrom of Billings.
A celebration of George’s life will be held this summer.
