| June 21, 2013 2:38 PM

The annual Big Bucks Tournament began Thursday with two games between the Moscow Blue Devils and Rainer, while the Libby Loggers took on the Kootenai Valley Rangers. Results were not available at press time.

Eight American Legion teams from Mont., Wash., Idaho, and Alberta, Canada, will take the stage at the Lee Gehring Field this weekend in round-robin action. Coach Kelly Morford and the home team Loggers will defend “the Lumberyard” for a first-place prize check of $500. Second and third place will take home checks for $300 and $100.

“This will be our seventh year coming to Libby,” said Tri-County coach Tyson Anderson, “It’s always good competition up there, so we really enjoy coming.”
