The Libby Loggers swept the Glacier Twins in an American Legion baseball double-header on Sunday, toppling the Whitefish team 6-2 and 3-0.

Jared Winslow, winning pitcher of the first game, allowed two unearned runs in the first inning before holding the Twins from reaching home for the next six innings.

The Loggers continued scoreless until the fifth inning when they racked up four runs led by shortstop Will Reichel. Reichel and Winslow both scored twice in the first game, with help from second baseman Collin Johnson and left fielder Isaak Jones, who had also scored a run each in the fifth inning.

Germany and third baseman Luke Haggerty swatted two RBIs each to contribute to the third of four wins against the Glacier Twins this season.

The second game winning pitcher Germany finished the night off in stride without giving up a single run. The Twins reached for three hits in the first two innings before rendered hitless by Germany for the remainder of the game.

Reichel came out in the second game to score another two runs off three at-bats against losing pitcher Brandon Maasen. Logger right fielder Cameron Burkes also scored in the fifth inning, capitalizing off an error at home.

Libby suffered only one error in the first game and no errors in game 2, highlighting an excellent night on defense for the Loggers. Glacier followed their example with an error in the first game and no errors in the following contest.

The Loggers are ready for another baseball double-header tonight at home. Libby will face the Strathmore Reds at 4:05 p.m. to be followed by a make-up game from June 25, against the Kalispell Lakers A team.
