Dorothy Dunning, 82, of Libby

Dorothy Dunning, 82, passed away peacefully Jan. 26, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital in Libby with her dear friend, Cindy Wagner, at her side. 

She was born April 29, 1930, in Grand Forks, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Anna Kopecky. She was the youngest of eight children.  She was raised in Tabor, Minn.  

She married James William Dunning on May 1, 1951, at Crookston, Minn.  They made their home in Denver, Colo., in 1957, living there until retiring, when they moved to Libby in 1982 to be close to their children.  

Her husband, father, mother and siblings preceded Dorothy in death.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Sharon and Tom Winkler of Kalispell; son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Dianne Dunning of Libby; two grandchildren: William Winkler of Missoula, Mont.; and Danica Dunning of Libby; and one great grandchild: Devon Winkler of Missoula; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, from at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. 

A service will be held at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.
