The Kootenai Heritage Council brings to Libby acclaimed Australian performing artist Paul Taylor who delights in celebrating the culture of his homeland through story, song, dance, painting and didjeridoo, a musical instrument of his homeland.
Taylor performs throughout the U.S. to all ages and conducts school residencies, which he will do Tuesday, Jan. 22, when he performs at Libby schools and then caps off the evening on the stage of the Libby Memorial Events Center.
Billed as the Australian storyteller, didjeridoo player and traveler, Taylor came to the U.S. from Adelaide on the invitation of Bobby Bridger and the Adelaide-Austin, Texas, sister-city program. Bridger is a descendent of the legendary western pioneer, Jim Bridger.
Taylor loved his initial visit to the U.S. so much that he decided to return in 1992 and commenced an extensive walkabout of the U.S. He is currently based in Laramie, Wyo., — the heart of America’s outback.
Taylor’s performances highlight unique historical parallels of America’s West with Australia’s Outback..
He will be sharing his vast experiences and talents in Libby at the Memorial Events Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22.
Ticket are $15 at the door or $12 in advance at Cabinet Books/The Printing Press, Rivermist, Mountain Meadows, The Western News, Homesteaders and Last Straw Café.
