Bonners Ferry park has a veterans memorial

I recently had an occasion to be in Bonners Ferry’s Old Town, and I was pleased to see that city has a veterans memorial.

In our fair city, the Park Committee and the mayor were adamant that the words “veterans memorial” were not even mentioned in our park down by the river.

They finally agreed to allow the memorial to be placed at the very back of the park with a bunch of costly conditions attached.

How’s that for not wanting to honor our veterans who have fought and died for our freedom for the past 100-plus years?
