Frenchtown escapes grasp of Loggers
Both Libby basketball teams played tight games and almost upset Frenchtown, but the resilient Broncs didn’t allow it to happen, and Libby lost both games.
Libby’s girls basketball team fought a close match with a 15-4 Frenchtown squad, but couldn’t close out the game and fell 41-40.
Sophomore wing Hailey Craig hit six 3-pointers en-route to her game-high 23 points. Sophomore guard Hannah England added three treys for Libby’s total of nine shots from behind the arc.
Libby was downed in part by its 7-for-16 free-throw shooting.
Libby will play Whitefish Friday in Ronan.

The Libby boys basketball team hung around long enough to give Frenchtown a headache, but not long enough to pull the upset.
The Broncs shot 16-of-23 from 2-point range.
Jared Winslow led Libby with 22 points.
The Loggers will play Polson on Thursday in the first playoff game.
