Tanya Griffith, 37, of Libby was flown out by Life Flight helicopter to Sandpoint, Idaho, after breaking her leg snowmobiling Sunday in the Yaak.

She injured herself near Pete Creek at around 4 p.m., and by the time first responders had arrived on the scene, she had been assisted down to the Yaak River Road.

Troy Volunteer Ambulance took her more than 27 miles to the top of Yaak Hill, where an impromptu helipad had been set up by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies in the flat area by the green garbage cans there.
