Dolores McConnell, 80, formerly of Libby

Former Libby resident Dolores (Dodie) McConnell, 80, of Vancouver, Wash., went to be with our Lord on Nov. 18, 2013.

Dodie was born on June 15, 1933, in Conrad to Earl and Lillian Carpenter. She grew up in Browning until the family moved to Kalispell in 1947.  

Her marriage to William (Bill) Brewington on March 10, 1950, brought her to Libby where the couple raised three children and lived happily for 28 years.  

After leaving Libby, Bill and Dodie settled in Bend, Ore., where Bill passed away from asbestosis in 2002.

In April 2005, Dodie married David McConnell of La Pine, Ore. They divided their time together between central Oregon and Green Valley, Ariz., until David’s passing in 2010.  

Dodie moved to Vancouver, Wash., in 2011 after suffering a stroke.

Dodie is survived by her children, Mike (Eulila) Brewington of Vancouver, Wash., Gini Ward of Austin, Texas, Steve (Val) Brewington of Phoenix, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
