Judith A. Jones, 78, of Libby

| December 10, 2013 10:05 AM

Judith (Judy) A. Jones, 78, of Libby was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at her home.

She was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Carbondale, Ill., to William and Ruth Corder. She moved to California with her parents and three younger siblings.

Judy married the love of her life, Jimmy Jones,  on Aug. 30, 1955.  They spent 58 wonderful years together and raised six children, Tom, Tonsie, Tim, Tina, Ted and Tracy.  They moved to Montana in 1970 where Jimmy worked at Libby Dam until his retirement.

Judy’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride of her life. She loved to play board games with her daughters and anyone she could get to sit still. She loved playing the piano with her great-grandchildren. Cooking and canning were not just a hobby, but an obsession.

She had a big heart and brought home stray animals through the years in hopes of helping them find a good home. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth (Tonsie) Corder.

Survivors include her husband, James (Jimmy) Jones, Libby; children, Tom (Sue) Jones of  Worley, Idaho; Tonsie (Rod) Johansen of Libby; Tim (Mary) Jones of Roseville, Calif.; Tina (John) Carlock of Libby; sons, Ted Jones and Tracy Jones of Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cynthia Rideout of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Susan (George) Brierly of Glendora, Calif.; brother, Bill Corder of Glendora, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are pending for a private family memorial (celebration of life).
