Grouse season begins Sunday

Grouse season opens this Sunday, Sept. 1, in Lincoln County, and for many hunters it’s a bridge to deer and elk seasons.
Sage, mountain and sharp-tailed grouse season opens Sunday with the sage grouse ending Nov. 1. The other two species can be hunted until Jan. 14.
Bird numbers are expected to be near the same, despite last summer’s drought and this spring’s floods.
