Luschers celebrate golden anniversary

James and Yvonne Luscher will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 3.

During his Army years, Dr. Jim Luscher was lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps at the Fort Belvoir DeWitt Army Hospital. In 1962, he met a Housing Department supervisor named Yvonne, and they were married at the Fort Belvoir Post Chapel one year later, on Aug. 3, 1963.

The couple moved to Libby after Jim completed his Army service in 1965. He opened Dr. James R. Luscher Optometric Office soon after and ran his private practice for 35 years.

While in Libby, Jim and Yvonne had three children, Scott, Eric and Erin. Their children have given them nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a few of whom have made their home in Kalispell. 

The celebration will be held in Libby with family and friends.
