Flathead Time Trials prove challenging for Loggers

In Tuesday’s Flathead Time Trials meet at Kalispell Legends Stadium, the Libby track and field teams struggled to get on the board.

With competition not only from AA schools Flathead and Glacier, but also from conference foes Columbia Falls, Whitefish and Polson, earning a place in the top six became a challenge.

One of the bright spots was Lady Logger Krysten Mossburg, who landed in fifth place of the 400-meter with a time of 1:07.49. That was her first time running the race this season.

Also for the girls, the 1,600-meter relay placed fifth, a hair behind Whitefish’s B-team. 

Shailynn Massie was less than three inches away from placing in the shot put.

On the boys side of the meet, things went even tougher.

Only the Loggers 4x400 relay team placed. They took fourth, ten seconds behind a Glacier B relay and a full 12 seconds in front of Whitefish.

That team consisted of Dan Leggins, Isaac Jones, Collin Johnson and Christian Dewine.

Both boys and girls teams will travel Saturday to Bigfork for the Bigfork Invitational.
