Ella L. Jenkins, 81, of Troy

Ella L. Jenkins, 81, of Troy, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Libby Care Center.  

She was born to Orand and Mary Irene (Brothwell) Abel on Jan. 27, 1931, at Morrill, Neb., and was raised and educated in Washington and Wyoming.  

She and her late husband Robert and family had lived throughout the western U.S. while he worked in construction, coming to Troy in 1968.  

Ella enjoyed fishing and did beadwork of all kinds; a proud mother and grandmother, she loved and valued her family greatly.  She had been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Preceding her in death were her husband Robert; a daughter, Janice Bowen; and sons Floyd Jenkins, Robert “Frog” Jenkins; and Acey Dee Jenkins.

Survivors include her children, Darrell Jenkins and Bobi (Fred) Sullivan, all of Troy; a brother Lyle “Abe” Abel of Red Bluff, Calif.; sisters Norma Dimmick of Chehalis, Wash.; and Orandella (Allen) Given of Oliver Springs, Tenn.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great -grandchild.

Services were 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Troy LDS Church located on Lake Creek Road with President Dave Winn presiding.  

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home.
