Letter to the Editor,
With the anti American demonstrations in the Middle East monopolizing the news of late, the idea of cutting back our aid to these countries was suggested by some as a logical strategy.
It seems to me an even more logical move would be to stop foreign aid altogether; not only to these countries that hate us, but to all countries.
I never understood the rationale for foreign aid in the first place, but especially now. With a national debt of 16 trillion, it seems moronic to borrow the money we distribute all over the world to friend and foe at a time when our own people are suffering and our infrastructure is falling apart.
