Kaiser is selected as ranger for the Three Rivers District

Kootenai National Forest Supervisor Paul Bradford named Kirsten Kaiser as the new district ranger for the Three Rivers Ranger District in Troy.

“I am pleased to have Kirsten bring her great abilities for working collaboratively with diverse groups and local communities,” Bradford said.

 Kirsten is currently working as an environmental coordinator with the Forest Service Enterprise Team. She previously worked as a natural resource manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Libby Dam.

 “Kirsten was an instrumental player in the forest planning process on the forest for years and her resource background and experience in NEPA will be an asset to the Kootenai Forest,” added Bradford.

Kaiser started her career in 1988 with the Bureau of Land Management as a cooperative education student.  

Other positions she has held include: recreation forester, biologist, public affairs officer, planning forester, and Forest Plan Zone Revision Team Leader for the Kootenai and Idaho Panhandle National Forests.

 Kirsten Kaiser received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Forest Resource Management from the University of Montana.

 “It is a privilege to be selected as the district ranger for the Three Rivers District,” said Kaiser. “I am eager to get to work to help manage the land and resources, and I look forward in collaborating with partners and local communities.”

 Kirsten and her husband Jeff have three school-age children and they enjoy outdoor recreation activities and kids’ sporting events.

 Alan Osborn will continue as the acting district ranger until Kirsten’s report date of Oct. 21.
