Ambulance service marks milestone

In 1972, Warren Robbe and several other Troy residents established the Troy Volunteer Ambulance service.

Now, after serving western Lincoln County for 40 years, the volunteers want to invite past members, friends, family and neighbors to an Open House at the Osprey Pavilion at Roosevelt Park in Troy, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, to celebrate four decades of service.

“We’re excited and are looking to find people who have served,” said Warren Edson, Troy Volunteer Ambulance volunteer. “Scores of people have served since 1972.”

The current members will present plaques to those people who have been instrumental in TVA’s success.

Robbe, the man who started the service, and Jay Maloney, its medical director, will be two of those folks receiving a plaque.

Everyone who appreciates the service TVA provides to western Lincoln County is invited to the reception at Roosevelt Park. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
