The Lady Logger soccer team turned around last year’s winless campaign and made the play-in round of playoffs.

They did this despite being outscored by 49 goals this year, thanks to late-season tenacity and winning vital conference games.

While the end result, a record of 2-8-3, may not look ideal, head coach Joe Cik was pleased with his team.

“We scored more than double the goals we scored last year,” he wrote in his end-of-year evaluation. “We had some tough times, also. The team is slowly getting better, and the team is learning how to play team soccer.”

While the team will graduate seven seniors, including five repeat letter-winners, 12 underclasswomen will return next season, including four repeat letter-winners.

Sarah Nash, senior striker, won all-conference honors. Team offensive MVP was senior striker Elly Webster. Defensively, it was senior defender Erin Rogers.

Most improved went to senior Kaytlin Gilder and the Team Leadership Award went to senior Hailey Bowe.

The season ended with an  8-0 loss to Whitefish as part of a play-in playoff game.
