Now is time to contribute to Libby Food Pantry, its secretary requests

Letter to the Editor,

The Libby Food Pantry needs the community’s help in fulfilling our goal of a “Bird in Every Basket” for our Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday drives.

In these hard times, we have experienced a rise in use of the Libby Food Pantry’s resources, while revenues from various assistance programs are on the decline.  

Our goal is to help those in need enjoy the holidays as well as the rest of us.  Of course, the cost of meat for these holiday baskets has always been a big strain on our budget, and is more so with the rising cost of food.

In an effort to accomplish our goal we are asking the community to support our first annual “Bird in Every Basket” fundraiser.  

To be a sponsor all you need to do is send your check for any amount, made payable to the Libby Food Pantry, at P.O. Box 311, Libby, Mont., 59923.  (Donations are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization).

Your donation also will assist us in raising the cash donations necessary for us to qualify for matching funds from Town Pump in the amount of $4,000.  So, your kind donation can double if we meet our goal by Nov. 30. 

The Libby Food Pantry board members and all of its volunteers wish to thank you in advance for your kind support of this program.
